The ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý Smile Grant serves to promote preventive oral care at the local level. It was launched in 2016 with the support of the Colgate-Palmolive Company. The grant supports ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý member National Dental Associations (NDAs) that are making a difference in oral health outcomes through innovative and sustainable community outreach projects in their countries.

The CHF5,000 grant recognizes member National Dental Associations (NDAs) that are making a difference in oral health through innovative and sustainable community outreach projects in their countries.

The ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý Smile Grant is open to any ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý Regular or Associate member. It is designed to reward projects that have been actively rolled out for at least one year and that will continue for at least one year more. Eligible projects may address any oral health issue and/or disease, with a strong focus on oral health education and oral health prevention and promotion.

The award is given to two applicants for their original projects. Applications must be submitted by the 1st February each year, and the Awards Ceremony takes place during the General Assembly at the ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý World Dental Congress. Applications are accepted year-round.

2024 ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý Smile Grant Winners

This year, ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý granted four awards – two for dental practices and two for individuals – each honouring those who have gone above and beyond to enhance sustainability in their operations. The winners were:

The winners of the third edition were the New Zealand Dental Association (pictured left) and the Indian Dental Association (pictured right). The awards were presented at the 2018 ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý World Dental Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina (5–9 September 2018).

2017 ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý Smile Grant Winners

The winners of the second edition were the Argentinian Dental Association and the Slovenian Dental Association. The awards were presented at the 2017 ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý World Dental Congress in Madrid, Spain (29 August–1 September 2017).

2016 ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý Smile Grant Winners

The winners of the first edition were the Palestinian Dental Association and the Cambodian Dental Association. The awards were presented at the 2016 ¾ÛÐÇÌåÓý Annual World Dental Congress in PoznaÅ„, Poland (7-10 September 2016).
