Sustainability infographic: launching six new language versions

This World Environment Day, discover how sustainability in dentistry can help protect our Only One Earth. Read the infographic and act today.

Climate change is currently one of the biggest threats to the well-being of our planet, humanity, and ecosystems. It is caused by an increase in carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in Earth鈥檚 atmosphere. Unfortunately, the healthcare sector is responsible for around five per cent of global greenhouse emissions, of which oral healthcare is an important contributor.

Reducing dentistry鈥檚 impact on the planet

This World Environment Day, 聚星体育 encourages the oral healthcare sector to commit to take care of our and proactively reduce the environmental impact of dentistry on the planet. Read and share our sustainability infographic aimed at dentists and dental teams to help raise awareness of the carbon emissions created by dental interventions. Previously, released in English, the resource is now available in an additional six languages including Arabic, Chinese, French, Hungarian, Italian and Spanish. The infographic can be printed and displayed in dental practices to inform dental teams and patients about the important environmental impact that dental interventions have. Dentists and their teams are urged to promote high-quality preventive care amongst patients to significantly reduce dentistry鈥檚 carbon footprint.

In addition to this, 聚星体育 recently also launched a Consensus Statement on Environmentally Sustainable Oral Healthcare, developed jointly with key stakeholders in the oral healthcare supply chain. The statement sheds light on the best opportunities to improve and deliver environmentally sustainable solutions to protect our planet. Collective transformative actions at the global level are essential preserve the environment we share.

About the Sustainability in Dentistry project

was established to motivate and inspire commitment to reduce the collective CO2 footprint of dentistry, targeting practitioners, patients, and the supply chain itself. The project will produce a suite of tools and resources for dental practices and patients to be more environmentally sustainable.
